Science & Sewing

A few months ago I offered to  sew lined covers for the equipment in the Museum of the Earth’s fossil Preparation Lab. Everything came out so beautifully that I had to share a few pics. The big slab you see in front of the equipment is an actual dinosaur bone that is waiting to be uncovered by a few diligent volunteers. The covers were lined to keep all of the dust being created from damaging the expensive equipment (including a scanning electron micrograph). The fabric was given to me by a scientist at the museum. I’m not sure where she found it but it actually has a coelophysis on it, which is the museum’s mascot.  See… sewing and science need each other.
