Well there’s a first for everything. This is my first storage unit. It’s my very own 10 ‘ x 10’ tiny home. My parents must be so proud. Where does your daughter live? Ugh…in D37 at Affordable Self Storage in Kingston. Not really impressive for a soon-to-be 37-year old spinster. On the bright side, I’ve always wanted a tiny home. I guess the old adage of be careful what you wish for is in order here. As you can see, I don’t own much and after this moving experience I can definitely say that I would like to have even less. There are a multitude benefits to being a minimalist. Certainly not having to lug a bunch of useless crap from place to place is the most obvious benefit. More than anything though, I can attest to feeling like a million bucks ever since I closed the door of that unit yesterday. My stuff and my apartment was a weight I didn’t even know I was carrying. Now I’m on the road with only the essentials and I’m feeling much lighter (sadly only in mind, not body. Oh well, can’t win them all.).
Major props to Ling Ling (my mom) and Carrie for helping me move in 90 degree heat. (What kind of evil beast makes their adorable senior-citizen mother move their furniture in crippling heat? Seriously. That’s just wack!) Saying that it was miserable would be a gross understatement. The beers certainly helped though.
Its ok friend I live in A35 (my age when I moved in) Self Storage on Trumansburg Road! I always wanted a small house too!
